Plant Experimentation: Dioscorea Elephantipes, Day 1.

Another of the seeds I bought is the Dioscorea Elephantipes, also known as Elephant’s Foot. When grown, it looks kind of like a vine-y tree or plant growing out of a turtle shell. Fascinating.

I planted these 1/3 inch deep in a mix of potting soil, perlite, and vermiculite, which will be kept moist, but not wet.

I am keeping this pot on top of a bookshelf near a window, where I can keep an eye on it and make sure it stays moist.
